Privacy policy

Nothing you type. There is no sign-up, no comment box and no email capture. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.

Standard request data. Like any website, our servers record IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used to keep the site running and to detect abuse, and is retained for a limited period.

Search queries. What you type into search is sent to our server to return results. It is not linked to you or stored against any profile.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are read, which outlets readers click through to, and how people arrive. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and_ga_*) to recognise a returning browser, and it records your approximate location, device and referring site. It does not tell us who you are, and we never send it your name, email address or the contents of anything you type into the contact form.

You can opt out for every site using Google's browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings — the site works normally either way.

If advertising is enabled in future, Google may also set cookies to serve and measure ads — you will be asked for consent first, and you can decline and continue using the site normally.

We do not sell data, and we do not run cross-site tracking of our own.

The site is funded by advertising. Where third-party ads are shown, those providers operate under their own privacy policies. Consent is requested before any advertising storage is used, in line with applicable consent requirements. Analytics is covered separately above.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and comparable laws elsewhere, you may ask what personal data we hold about you and request its deletion. Since we operate no accounts, in most cases the answer is that we hold none beyond transient server logs.

Requests go through contact.

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them. As there is no registration, we have no means of doing so.

If this policy changes materially — particularly if we ever begin collecting something new — the date above will change and the change will be described here rather than made silently.
